Let's meet-up..!!!

Guys,

I suggest we meet up for a drink or makan2 this weekend as a farewell gathering for Aiie and Lara who are leaving for London soon. It'l be at least another 12 months before we get to see them again (kalau aiie tak repeat larrrr... shh... shhhh.... eddie yg soh cakap... eddie yg soh cakap).

This time we do it earlier like maybe a potluck in someone's house which will be more comfortable and cosy or just a plain teh tasik session at any less noisy mamak around PJ area.

Then, those who can stay longer, maybe after the gatheirng we can go for a jamming or karaoke session belting songs like Runaway train or I'm a Creep or My Way or even Aku Semut Merahhh...!! Sure best wehhh...

Maybe Araya can recite doa selamat in conjunction with the upcoming puasa month and hoping that Nilki and Padil will have a complete ramadhan this year less nasik ayam tapau.... muahahaha....

What say you...!!!??

15th Hot Air Balloon Championship

My family was at the 15th Hot Air Balloon Championship which was held not far from our house, which is only about 2 km away. This championship was organized by the FAI (Fédération Aéronautique Internationale) and CIA (Commission Internationale d'Aérostation). Held annually in Magdeburg at the Elbauenpark. As many as 30 nations and about 800 air-sportsmen took part in this championship. The highlight was the balloon glow at night and performances by Boney M and various German artists. What a nostalgic listening to Boney M singing Sunny, Rasputin, Holiday, Daddy Cool and not forgetting, By the River of Babylon. I'm sure you guys still remember this disco-dance repertoires!!! OK, enjoy these pictures below.

This is my little daughter - Farah - who's turning 4 this October 07.
This is dedicated to all men reading this...

and this is for their children...

Cycling

On 28th of July, i was coaxed into cycling by friends who are fitness buffs. The route taken was around Bukit Damansara-Penchala Link-The Curve-Tropicana-DU-One Utama-TTDI-Penchala Link-Bukit Damansara.

We started RV at Bukit Damansara (nearby Rafidah Aziz'z house) at 715am. We were supposed to start cycling at 730am, however, a few of the guys who'd late nite entertainment came much later and delayed the intended departure time.

This is the first time i had join the cycling circle and these guys are bloody serious with the sport. I thot cycling would not cost much compared to my other liking such as diving or golf. However, i was in for a rude shock. The bicycle which these people are using can buy me a Kawasaki KRZ or even a second had Aprilia..!! One of them had Conaglo Dream, Tour De France replica bike which cost at least RM10k.... Geeeeez....

Anway, observing these people preparing for the ride gives me shivers as each of them were well equipped with biking suit (with lots of sponsor stickers), Oakley shades, fancy helmet, heart rate monitor, calorie counter bla bla bla. As for me, i wore my tennis shorts, tennis shoes, tennis shirt and tennis cap. I had no bike.

However, my friend Chipang was kind enough to lend me his 3k worth italian-made mountain bike for the ride. It is not the best machine for road biking but good enough for a beginner like who's seeking for an alternative cardio workout regime and hoping to burn extra calories along the way.

We were supposed to complete the loop back to Bukit Damansara which covers at least 30km in total. Well, the rest of the team managed to do just that....... except me.

Urrrghhh... i 'dropped' at around 24km mark as my butt was melecet and the heat was too strong. It was around noon when i stopped. Then, i pulledthe bike aside, lepak at rasta TTDI and waited for the rescue team to fetch me.
It was definitely a torturous ride (seat basikal tuh kecik siottt, although the owner said that the biggest size you can find in the market) but i dont wanna make any excuse for not completing the route. It was frustrating but for a first timer, 24km was not bad and there's only one way for me now...... to move forward....
We'll see guys.... on the next ride...

Gazebo, 28 July 2007

I got there around 950pm. It seemed too early as no one was around yet. The eagerness to meet you guys was unbearable. I sat at a table and watched Ikon Malaysia on tv. Apple juice, a thirst quencher.

Padil was next to arrive at 1030pm on the dot. Dil, your punctuality is as sharp as ever. He came alone. Wifey had gone to PICC to support Mawi.

We waited in vain for the next one to arrive and Padil started calling everyone around town to get confirmation of their attendance. One after another said that they were not coming due to unforeseen circumstances. Padil sound frustrated. He was not well - watery eye, slight temperature and stomach problem but strong enough to muscle his way to Gazebo for the teh tarik session.

"Piq, nampaknyer kita berdua jer..." Padil muttered and paused.

"Jap lagi dorang datang arr tuh..." I tried to be positive.

Way passed 11pm, Aiie, the celebrated persona arrived with wifey. Suddenly, the gloomy and sombre Saturday nite turned into life.

Lara was immediately introduced to us and before she could even settled down, Padil cracked a joke - one of many for the nite. We burst into laughter and i could see people were looking at us in perplexed.

Past midnite, we kept on refilling our food and drinks and more photo taking and more jokes flying around.

Then, Padil's wifey came. She's definitely one of Mawi's biggest fan and guess what... Aiie too...!!! And if you wanna know more about Malaysia hypermarket scene, this husband and wife combo can tell you things which you'll never get to know from the mainstream media. Healthy competition and corporate espionage under the same roof.

We talked and chatted the whole night long from sweet memories to person development and current issues.

We bounced around 2:15am Sunday morning and little did we noticed that we've been there for more than 4 hours..!!!

Anyway, kudos to Lara and Julia for being such a sport and understanding life partner to my good olde mates. I am sure they are in good hands now.

Thanks to my wife too for sacrificing our weekend time together and baby sit our child. I love you, beb.

To everyone who couldn't make for their own reasons, we definitely missed your presence and hopefully we can meet up in the next session.

cheers...

# We'd planned to meet up at least once again before Aiie flies back to London on 1/9/2007. (Dengar2 Araya nak jamu satay kajang... amcam?)

Kenduri rumah Pok Ed

Ed, Nikki De Rossa and family, Tabira and kids, Upiq and family (wifey took the photo).
This picture was taken during a kenduri held in Ed's house about couple of years ago. (nikki pegi blakang dapur nak tapau tapi kena marah ngan Tabira). That was Tabira before he took up cycling. If you guys wanna see the latest of him, watch out for Bank Muamalat advert in the local dailies.

testing....testing.....

Quote of the day

"BERCINTA LARRR HANG SAMPAI MAMPUIH...!!!"
