Jalan-Jalan Cari Makan 3

Oh well, due to various unexpected recent events of higher priority, i was unable to complete my Jalan-Jalan Cari Makan blogging series.

Anyway, i'l make sure that i'l blog about it in the next few weeks. Thus, this is another one of the outstanding posts. Enjoy.....

After a satisfying bowl of chendul and ice cool teh bunga, i took my wife ronda-ronda Georgetown. One of the place we had to stop is this beautiful & historic Kapitan Keling Mosque. I was gladly suprised that the mosque has been restored and whoever who did the job deserve a pat on their back. I was in awe to see to quality of the restoration work. Very nice.

Along the way, i saw a few more under going restoration work and i hope this effort continues as much as possible to save our heritage.

Round punyer round, we reached this street. Load of stories are attached to this street and i shall keep most of it in my memory chest and apologies to spouses/partners/others as i'm not at a liberty to reveal the intricacies.... haha....

Still on Chulia Street, we passed the original location of Kassim Mustapha restaurant. The restaurant went through a major makeshift and now it looked a bit modern and presentable to tourist. However, i missed the old dirty facade and scattered tables/chairs by the sidewalk.

Then , we went to Pulau Tikus to find my mom-in-law place where she had grew up in the past. We found the location, took the pictures but we were told later that the house has been torn down. The house in the picture was built later on the same location, along Jones Road. We found her primary school too, Convent Jalan Tikus and my wife had the chance to get a glimpse down the memory lane.

From there, we went to the Botanical Garden but unfortunately, it was drizzling. Darn. I thought of taking my son a trip close to nature and expose him to experience the monkeys in person but takde rezeki.

So, we went to Miami beach and the sun came out again at the right time at the right place. I can still remember we went fishing here but came back with nothing. 5 hours of sheer waste of time and i just couldn't stand sitting there waiting endlessly hoping that the fish will bite the bait. Fishing is definitely not my 'thangggg'.

Anyway, we lepak for awhile, ushar2 couple dating/projek lam laut (haha..) and we had a pack of rojak udang with petis udang. Yumm... yummm.... sedap siottt...

We also saw the tsunami victims temporary shelter and reminded us of the tragic incident which had hit the beach in Dec 2004.

My son, enjoying ice-cream at Miami beach. Look at the new tarmac they constructed at the beach. It nice, clean and safe for people who wish to go there to lepak and not swimming. We wanted to go swimming but the afternoon heat was too intense for any decent beach outing.

Stay tuned.
